A38 Roadworks

A38 Little Eaton and Markeaton ‘Pinch Point’ Schemes will last for up to 24 weeks, involving lane closures, temporary speed limits and some overnight closures.

In essence, the existing southbound entry from B6179 to the Little Eaton roundabout will be widened to provide a longer length of 2 lane section.  Although there are no traffic signals on the southbound approach of B6179 to the roundabout, the 24/7 traffic signal system has allowed for queues on this approach to be continually monitored by traffic loops under the carriageway, which will adjust the timings on the other signals to give an longer red phase to A38 northbound and circulating traffic where necessary, thus allowing B6179 traffic the opportunity to safely enter the roundabout from the give-way lines.
