Evening of music with the Long Eaton Silver Prize Band - 3 December 2011 [View photos] Another enjoyable evening - but as there were around 33 band members we thought it wise to limit ticket sales to 60. In the end we sold about 55 tickets and we all had a very enjoyable time. So much so that we have tried, and now succeeded in booking the band again for 2012. After the first half a finger buffet meal was provided on platters. The second half ended up with some community singing and it was most successful. Thanks to Val, David and all the supporting helpers we made about 252 pounds towards our funds. Quiz and Chips Evening - 29 October 2011 [View photos] A Musical Evening with '3 Men's Company' - 30 September 2011 [View photos] This was a very successful evening starting with a Bucks Fizz and canapés reception. The evening consisted of two sessions of songs, piano and readings with food platters in the interval. We made £565 towards our funds. Thanks to Gill and all who helped make this such a good evening Ludlow Food and Drink Festival - 9 September 2011 We joined a trip organised by a local bus company, were collected from the village and had a great day out. Plenty of things to watch, plenty to eat and loads of shows to enjoy. A totally enjoyable day out and a possible thems for a similar trip next year. Thanks to Allan for organising the event. Magic Evening - 4 June 2011 [View photos] We had the Derby Magic Circle providing table top magic for each table during the first half. Then an interval for food followed by a comedy/magic session and then a stage show to complete the evening. We all enjoyed the evening and we can report a profit of around £200 for our funds. Thanks the Syd and all helpers once again. Irish Evening - 26 March 2011 [View photos] Another event held in the new Village Hall and this time the musical entertainment was organised through a booking agency. It turned out well and, despite the music not being totally Irish we all had a good singalong and the platter food was excellent. Doreen and Margaret had planned and organised the evening and appreciated the help provided by others, including non-committee members. We had a profit of £435 on the evening. Well done everybody.
